Monarch Manor Nurseries

"More milkweed, more Monarchs!"

I would first like to thank you for your business!

By buying and planting Milkweed you are being a part of the change our world needs to save these beautiful butterflies for generations to come! With your help, we are getting one step closer to that goal.

I started this small in-home nursery after I realized just how dire the situation was for these wonderful creatures. I remember when I was a child I would see milkweed growing everywhere and I always looked forward to the summer months finding and raising Monarch caterpillars with my Mom. Since then I have only been able to find caterpillars a few times over the years until I started growing my own milkweed. "Plant it and they will come" definitely holds true with Monarchs!

The Inspiration

In the last 20 years, Monarch numbers have declined by 80%! Not only is milkweed that's growing "wild" being destroyed by the use of herbicides and clear-cutting but pesticides are being used at many commercial nurseries. Which defeats the purpose of planting milkweed as a host plant for Monarchs. That's why I started to grow Milkweed that is native to our area and pesticide FREE in my home. Basically, the more Milkweed that we get out into the world that is protected the more Monarchs will survive and thrive!

What people are saying

"We purchased 35 milkweed plants from Kira to sell in our store. The plants were in 3" pots, healthy and very well started. They sold in the first week. In the end, we ended up selling 110 Common Milkweed pots! Our customers were very happy with the quality of the seedlings. We have already pre-ordered 150 for the coming season. Thanks Kira for helping the Monarch Butterfly!"
